You may find additional ideas or insights in Karen’s interpretation:

~Stay in community for safety and growth

The zebras know there is safety in numbers, and not just with other zebras. If you were to join me on safari, you’d see that zebras often hang out with wildebeests and giraffes. This is because together this trio makes for excellent vision, hearing and smell, and so can warn each other when they sense danger. We can learn from those that have excellent qualities we don’t possess in order to be safe and have a good life. Seek wisdom from those that are not like you in order to really expand your mind and life.

~Look out for each other

Share your wisdom with those that need it or don’t have the same access to it. We can all learn from each other, and you possess skills and knowledge that many others don’t.

~Live in the moment; you can’t worry or judge the future

If a zebra worried about the lion a few hundred yards away, it would never eat, play or sleep. The truth is, the zebra knows it’s really safe the majority of the time, and if the situation comes up that the lion comes after it, then it will flee at that time. If we live worrying about what might happen, we will never be able to enjoy the moment. Chances are it won’t ever happen, so enjoy now!

~Appreciate the bounty where you are

Zebras eat what is in front of them. They aren’t thinking about the great grass they had five days ago; they appreciate and use what is there and move on when it is gone. Are you appreciating what you have now? Or are you always looking for something better? Gratitude for your present bounty creates more feelings of gratitude for other areas of your life. Be grateful and you will find more to be grateful for.
